Gr 9 Up–A great YA romantic Regency comedy that is prime enemies-to-lovers. Blythe and Briggs tormented each other throughout their childhoods, pulling pranks and trading barbs on and with each other. Fast forward to them as young adults and Blythe is trying to get an apiary business up and running, even though her parents want to her trade in her bees for a husband. Meanwhile, Briggs has recently learned that his newly deceased father had gambled away the family’s money. Briggs, now head of the household, is trying to figure out how to hang on to his family’s holdings. Blythe and Briggs strike a deal—Briggs will use his social status and influence to help her gain clients for her business, and Blythe will help Briggs secure a wealthy bride. Antics and fun ensue, and of course, the two fight their feelings for each other. It’s a slow-burn, but one readers will love following. Fans of Julia Quinn, Katherine Center, and Jane Austen will especially enjoy this novel.
