Did you catch our behind-the-scenes chats with book creators last week on Facebook Live? In case you missed them, we've rounded up some of our recent talks with Kwame Alexander, Eoin Colfer, Ngozi Ukazu, and more. Children and YA librarians gathered en masse at SLJ's annual Day of Dialog, held during BookExpo, at NYU’s Kimmel Center on Wednesday, May 30. The most anticipated librarian-only event of the year featured the best authors, editors, and publishers in the industry talking about the latest trends and the hottest books in the world of kid and ya literature. SLJ editors and contributors took advantage of having access to these brilliant creators to get the inside scoop on their latest works.

Eoin Colfer, author of the "Artemis Fowl" series, opens up to Rocco Staino, contributing editor, about his graphic novel Illegal (Sourcebooks; August 7).

Children's librarian and SLJ reviewer Paula Willey sat down with author/illustrator John Hendrix to discuss his graphic nonfiction work, The Faithful Spy: Dietrich Bonhoeffer and the Plot to Kill Hitler (Abrams; September 4).

The creator of the "Lunch Lady" books chats about his most personal work to date, with Mahnaz Dar, professional reading, reference, and graphic novel reviews editor. Jarrett J. Krosoczka's graphic memoir Hey, Kiddo (Scholastic; October 8) is his first book for older readers.

Reviews manager Shelley Diaz asks middle grade author Torrey Maldonado about Tight (Penguin; September 4), his first book since Secret Saturdays, both of which are set in Brooklyn.

Ngozi Ukazu, the mastermind behind the megapopular webcomic series, gives us the skinny on Check, Please!: #Hockey (First Second; September 18), the first half of its collected print volume.

Stephanie Klose, audiobooks editor, caught up with Ruth Ware at our sister publication Library Journal's own Day of Dialog. They talked about the author's latest thriller, The Death of Mrs. Westaway (Gallery; May 29), which has loads of teen appeal.

And, as we teased in our latest "Book Nerds" episode, reviews director Kiera Parrott and Mahnaz Dar met up with Newbery medalist Kwame Alexander at Book Expo to discuss his latest work with Mary Rand Hess, Swing (Blink; October 2).
