From the medieval, magical mischief of Thinkrolls: Kings and Queens to the delightful design of DNA Play, Avokiddo has secured a respected position in the app world. In the latest addition to the "Thinkrolls" series, Space (iOS, $3.99; Gr 1 Up), the developer fuses logic, puzzles, and elements of physics in a galaxy that only it could create.

Thinkrolls are round, and often toothy, alien characters that users manipulate through various pathways and tunnels by swiping and dragging. As they move the critters through the bright, blocky terrain they are helping a peckish blue fuzzball gobble up space cheese, ultimately clearing a path, locating a key, and opening a gate that will lead to the next level or planet. With the addition of other colorful characters, including a robot that resembles a Polaroid version of R2D2, the symbiotic relationships within the levels get trickier but not frustrating.

There are two difficulty modes and seven themed planets to travel through, adding up to 200+ mazes. The levels are short, simple-to-navigate, and engaging. Collecting hearts and stars keeps the momentum going, despite some real problem solving taking place. While marketed towards younger minds, this is the kind of game that adults will find themselves picking up the iPad to take a turn.
