Trailers for The Hate U Give and To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before have recently debuted. Check them out here.

How much of author Angie Thomas’s voice will echo throughout the highly anticipated page-to-screen adaptation of her hard-hitting The Hate U Give? The recently released official trailer offers hints of the film to come. Amandla Stenberg takes on the role of Starr Carter, heading a cast that includes Regina Hall, Russell Hornsby, KJ Apa, Algee Smith, Lamar Johnson, Issa Rae, Sabrina Carpenter, Common, and Anthony Mackie. The film, directed by George Tillman, Jr. (The Longest Ride and TV’s This Is Us), will be released in theaters on October 19. Another trailer for a film based on a popular novel, albeit entirely different in tone, also just made its debut. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, based on Jenny Han’s lighthearted 2014 novel, will begin streaming on Netflix August 17. The romcom stars Lana Condor, Noah Centineo, Janel Parrish, Israel Broussard, Andrew Bachelor, John Corbett, and Anna Cathcart, and is helmed by Susan Johnson (Carrie Pilby). Before either of these films comes out, the action/dystopian thriller The Darkest Minds, based on Alexandra Bracken’s 2012 saga launcher, will be out in theaters on August 3, starring Stenberg, once again, alongside Mandy Moore, Bradley Whitford, Harris Dickinson, Patrick Gibson, Skylan Brooks, Miya Cech, and Gwendoline Christie. Jennifer Yuh Nelson (codirector of Kung Fu Panda 3) directs.
