2025 Eisner Awards Announced

Gene Luen Yang and his graphic novel Lunar New Year Love Story won multiple awards at the annual ceremony during San Diego Comic-Con.

The Eisner Awards were awarded on Friday at San Diego Comic-Con in a ceremony held at the San Diego Hilton Bayfront Hotel. Gene Luen Yang and his graphic novel Lunar New Year Love Story were big winners. The graphic novel, illustrated by LeUyen Pham, won Best Publication for Teens and Best Graphic Album—New, while Yang took home the Best Writer Award.

In the other kid lit-specific categories:

Hilda and Twig Hide from the Rain by Luke Pearson (Flying Eye) won Best Publication for Early Readers; and Plain Jane and the Mermaid by Vera Brosgol (First Second/Macmillan) was named Best Publication for Kids.
