Zoomer's Summer Snowstorm

PreS-Gr 2—Zoomer and his vivid imagination are back. This time the pup uses his Wonder Cone machine to turn a hot summer day into a supercool winter afternoon. Suddenly Zoomer is building anything and everything out of snow including a wildlife sanctuary, the empire of Zoomarctica, and a life-size train. His disdainful brothers are finally won over by the fully functional amusement park with a roller coaster and a Ferris wheel that he makes. Ever the responsible dog, Zoomer eventually cleans up the mess in the kitchen and requests chili for dinner. Young's illustrations are bursting with the contrast between the green of summer and the blue white of winter. They practically leap from the page and give the text amazing vitality. The crisp and clean artwork is chock-full of details that feature numerous humorous aspects.
