PreS-Gr 2–This sweet Spanish language picture book introduces children to the world of seeds. Almost all plants have seeds. These seeds have to travel, otherwise there would be too many plants in one spot. They travel by wind, water, and even by way of different animals. Many seeds travel in suitcases called fruit. Some fruits have one large seed in the middle like an avocado, and some other fruits have many seeds inside, like the apple. Others have seeds on the outside, like strawberries. Sometimes we even eat seeds, such as peas and corn. Seeds can travel near and far. Children will be drawn in by the engaging narrative and the watercolor illustrations that depict the journey seeds can take before they end up in tummies. The images will have early elementary students wanting to pick the fruit right off the page. A great informational read aloud that educators can feature in classrooms learning about seeds and how they grow.
