The Dream Team!/Glitter and Shine!

Gr 2-3–LEGO DREAMZzz introduces young readers to a thrilling universe-spanning TV shows, web shorts, building sets, and books. In this double-header, friends battle against The Nightmare King and his Grimspawn minions, who threaten to plunge the dream realms into chaos. With fantastical elements like a space bus, transforming blobs, giant bunnies, and flying evil unicorns, these action-packed adventures leave little room for calm. Readers unfamiliar with the DREAMZzz universe might find the book’s lack of context confusing. Vocabulary related to the world, such as grimspawn and grimsteed, might challenge new readers. Despite any initial confusion, both stories end positively. Full-color illustrations are sure to captivate young readers. LEGO has made strides in diversifying its characters, featuring physical differences such as dreadlocks, vitiligo, and prosthetics. However, the backstories of these characters may develop more fully across other media, but not in these two entries.
