The Bone Carver

Gr 9 Up–After the bloodcurdling tale of The Night Weaver, Snyman transports readers back to the demonic town of Shadow Grove. Having just bombed the SAT exam, 17-year-old Rachel McCleary, of Irish descent, struggles to deal with an obsessive stalker and the evil Miser Fae at Ridge Crest High; life cannot get any worse. To add salt to the wound, she yearns for love from her emotionally unavailable mother, who transforms into a possessed, wall-crawling demon. After next-door neighbor Mrs. Crenshaw is attacked, things turn to chaos as townsfolk begin receiving eerie bone-carved miniatures of themselves before becoming incapacitated. Rachel must brave a journey through the Fae Realm to seek help from her Fae love interest, Orion. With reinforcement from friends Dougal McRae, Fae light-pet Ziggy, and enchantress Mercia, they will have to work together to overpower this enshrouded, ancient creature. Rachel will once again have to face the evils that seep into the veins of her town, all while unveiling the truth about her arcane life. Snyman interweaves action, intrigue, and horror into one novel.
