The text is elegant and poetic, with only a few words on each page showing how tea connects people in different ways. Cha’s beautiful hand-painted watercolors complement the text perfectly. Readers will enjoy spending time noticing the details in each image. Not only are different cultures featured in the imagery, but modern practices are also included alongside traditional ones. In one scene, children are shown on a tablet screen, gathered together in an online class about making tea.
VERDICT This lovely picture book is sure to delight young readers.
