PreS–Is there anything cuter than baby feet? Not in this sweet, rhyming story about a new walker and her activities during the course of a day. As she eats, dresses, plays, and bathes, she is watched with various amounts of alarm, ruefulness, and pleasure by her mother and pet cat and dog. Whether wearing socks and shoes or stomping or wiggling bare toes, the youngster is fully engaged. The puppy joyfully participates in her messier activities while the cat tends to be more of an observer. The brief rhymes give just enough description to allow Dockray to portray the action while adding plenty of humor. Soft- focus, vibrantly colored illustrations perfectly convey the variety in Baby’s day. Each spread successfully evinces movement through both text and illustration so that references to previous pages appear frequently. A lovely sharing book for parents and young children.–B. This sweet rhyming story spotlights baby feet: "Morning time! / Feet are bare. / Stretch them, wave them / Through the air." As Mama and Baby go about their daily routine, Baby's tootsies stomp during breakfast, tap to a favorite song, splash in the bathtub, and so on. Dockray's warm, animated illustrations show "Chubby, cuddly / Baby feet" in action.
