It's another boring day at school--until Milo finds a diamond necklace in his desk. He's sure it's from a jewelry heist he read about, but Jazz reminds him not to jump to conclusions. Using deductive reasoning, they work backwards to solve the mystery. It's a slight but pleasing story; appended riddles and puzzles will further entice young wannabe sleuths.
In the third installment of the quick-paced series, hedgehogs Trundle and Esmeralda continue to flee from evil Captain Grizzletusk while seeking the next crown in their quest. This time they work to wake up a sleepy phoenix in an attempt to find the Crown of Fire. Exaggerated characters are sometimes more annoying than humorous.
In this penultimate Touch series entry, Camelia again senses that someone is in danger through psychometry (confirmed through anonymous letters to and from a stalker). Now she's hearing voices, and Camelia fears that her gift might overwhelm her. With the same setup as its predecessors, Voices lacks suspense but still delivers a tense climax and a mystery resolution that's just right.
