Seven All Alone

Gr 9 Up–Maggie and her classmates head off to the mountains of the Scottish Highlands on an enrichment trip for school. Oddly enough, she and most of the group have been here before, against their will. At the age of six, Maggie and six of her classmates were abducted and kept in a cave for three days by a bus driver. Maggie is still traumatized by it. Now, as the hardships of hiking, rafting, and being separated from their guide set in, strange things begin to happen. Does it relate to what happened all those years ago? The slow burn plot and sudden twists will make readers question who is really causing all the trauma and drama. This story has the thrills and kills of a mild slasher film but also uses the wilderness and past bonds between the classmates to cast doubt and suspicion for both the characters and readers alike.
