Gr 4–8—Crafts and recipes from each country are offered up alongside information about culture and traditions with a little history sprinkled in. The authors possess first-hand knowledge of their topics, giving a nice depth to the volumes. There are some delightful gems tucked away in these volumes, but the overall execution leaves something to be desired. Many of the crafts are quite complicated with instructions that will not help children understand the steps. The recipes, too, are intimidating and suited for experienced cooks. On top of this, many of the photographs are poorly lit and have an unprofessional look. Purchase where there is great demand for country/recipe books.—
