Gr 1-2–Pinkalicious returns in a new adventure, this time in chic Paris. The whole family is taking a trip to the glittering city of lights, and Pinkalicious is determined to find the perfect pink souvenir to remember their trip. She spies a cart of pink Eiffel Towers and chases it down to secure one but gets separated from her family in the process. In her efforts to locate them, she visits a pink shop and a bakery before finding a helpful mother and daughter. Pinkalicious remembers the rule her mommy told her: Find a mother if she needs help. It proves to be true; the mother and daughter help her back to the Eiffel Tower where her family awaits. Kann’s vivacious prose and dialogue express the bubbly personality of Pinkalicious on every page. The illustrations seem a bit flat, without enough layering and detail to bring them to life.
VERDICT A good choice for new and old fans of Pinkalicious and her adventures; especially recommended for beginning readers.
