PreS-Gr 2—Raffi is back after a 12-year hiatus with the simple melodies and folk instrumentation that he is famous for. Raffi has many songs on "Love Bug" that present a positive message. During "Mama Loves It," the kids ask, "How can I help mama, how can I help papa?" The message in "Free to Play" will resonate with many parents and caregivers who want to encourage their children to play and "be what I can be" by playing, being free to dance, sing, and make finger puppets. Toes will start tapping during "On Hockey Days," which is one of the more upbeat songs. The songs seem to lack some of the energy and enthusiasm listeners may be accustomed to from Raffi's previous albums. The production quality is clean and simple. While this is a good quality, laid-back album, some songs need a little more pep to keep the younger listeners interested. Purchase this where there is demand for Raffi.—Caitlyn Walsh, Fayetteville Public Library, AR
