Little Pumpkin sobbingly asks first a black cat and then a witch to help get its light back. A ghost is asked, and then a helpful bat asks a star right out of the sky to be the light. The pumpkin is aglow in time for every member of the book’s cast to wish readers a “Happy Halloween.”
VERDICT This is a charmer, alright, with simple shapes, digitally drawn and colored, to fill up toddlers’ eyes and nothing spooky to spoil the mood of gentle friendship and celebrations.
