Lionel loves to do all the things that his father does: comb his hair, scratch his itches, and sing very loudly. But when an accident occurs and Dad loses his temper, Lionel picks up those habits as well. “Dad yells. So does Lionel! Dad folds his arms. So does Lionel.” After taking some time to think, they bounce back and calm themselves down. In the end, both are happy. This book is written concisely yet is well-executed and engaging.
VERDICT Simple illustrations and text on bright, solid backgrounds will keep the attention of young Lionels in the world.
