Toddler-PreS–Leo is filthy! He plays outside and has so much fun, but now it’s time for a bath. Leo gets the temperature just right, has strawberry-scented bath bubbles, and washes himself with a soft washcloth. His dog, Lucky, even jumps in to join splash-time. Special guest appearances include a rubber duck, a tugboat, and a frog, and after a long and busy day, Leo gets into his jammies and goes to bed. This is a toddler-sized tale, hitting every sweet note about the things that are important to this age group. The colorful digital illustrations show Leo’s natural hair texture and dark skin, along with the bright colors of the bath and toys.
VERDICT This is a darling, diverse addition to the bath shelves or just for a fast and funny read-aloud with toddlers.
