Home Is the Place

Gr 3–7—In the final installment of the "Family Tree" series, secrets and issues from the previous three stories are satisfyingly resolved. Five generations of women—including great-great-grandmother Nell's diary found by young Georgia in the wall of the beach house—have told their stories and now come together to reveal family mysteries. Unlike previous installments, there is less focus on the main character and more on the completion of the multi-generational tale. The actors voicing the story, Mandy Siegfried and Lorna Raver, draw listeners in quickly as Georgia finds the diary and pieces together the beginning of her family tree, eventually encouraging her great-grandmother Abby, her grandmother Dana, and her mother, Francie, to do the same. Each character has a distinctive voice that adds to the overall experience of the audiobook.
