PreS-Gr 2—Gracie the bunny and her friends spend the day in the mountains, picking flowers, dancing around, and generally having fun. That night, when she goes to bed, "she trie[s] to take off her glasses. Oops! She realize[s] that she [isn't] wearing them!" Naturally, Gracie ventures out into the night to find her specs. However, on her way, she encounters several things in the dark that resemble her glasses, yet she is still unable to locate them. A ghost, with frightful intentions, sets out to scare Gracie but ends up joining the search for her glasses. This offbeat tale incorporates silly circumstances to create an amusing read-aloud. The illustrations are done in colorful collage materials on modest backgrounds. Sena's use of shapes helps make facial expressions recognizable for young readers.
VERDICT A recommended purchase for libraries looking for lighthearted ghost stories.
