A journey through mud puddles, encounters with farm animals, and a trip to the garden fill the day until it is time for a bath and getting tucked into bed. The illustrations feature a brown-skinned child and mother; the love between the two of them is captured very effectively in Rooney’s lovely illustrations.
VERDICT A trip to the country is always special, even for those who only read about it; this title is a sweet offering for story time or one on one.
