Burning Crowns

Gr 9 Up–The action continues as Queens Rose and Wren prepare themselves for the full might of Oonagh’s undead army. Picking up shortly after where Cursed Crowns left off, the sisters’ reunion is short-lived when a magic ceremony backfires and the not-so-despicable King Alarik comes knocking. The curse haunting both him and Wren has intensified, draining her magic and their lives. With the faithful Captain Tor in tow, the three will be forced on an awkward journey to find a solution for both the curse and their romantic predicament. Meanwhile, Rose will travel to the Sunkissed Kingdom to search for a weapon strong enough to defeat Oonagh, but first she may have to have it out with her entangled beau, Shen. This fast-paced, plot-driven romantasy continues to deliver an abundance of twists and cheeky humor. Although the sisters, particularly Rose, frequently lose sight of the fast-approaching threat, readers willing to overlook this will enjoy the messy, occasionally steamy romances. While love conquering all is not a new concept, it is nonetheless a tender, tear-jerking depiction of the strong bond forged between siblings.
