PreS–Five beds are waiting for five bears. Big Brown Bear comes first and settles sleepily in the one big bed. Then gradually the little beds are occupied by Yellow, Fuzzy, Calico, and Floppy Bear, and they all snuggle down and go to sleep. But wait! What is that sound? “They heard the wind./They had a scare./They’re afraid to stay/in their beds over there.” So, all five end up cuddling in Big Brown Bear’s bed. Set against pages of mostly blue and lavender shades, the soft pastel acrylic illustrations picture the huggable cubs perfectly.
