A Very Merry 90s Christmas

Gr 3 Up–This adult-directed text is a reminiscence of the treats and superstars of the 1990s with a twist on a holiday story classic. ‘Twas the night before Christmas, and Uncle Jesse of the ‘90s sitcom Full House is feeling lonely without his family home. He powers up his iMac and starts a chain reaction of some of the most recognizable celebrities from the decade joining forces to bring Christmas to the famous San Francisco household. The text is written in the style of the holiday classic, ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas, with pop cultural references of the time period dripped on every page. There is some inconsistency, as certain famous figures are referenced by their character’s monikers, while others are referenced by their true names. Illustrations are akin to pop art styles of the decade and replicate iconic moments and looks from the time period.
