PreS-Gr 1—Read (or sing along) with a family of six as they go about their day on their farm. They complete chores such as milking the cow, gathering the eggs, picking cherries, and raking hay, and the refrain for each verse is, "1,2,3, it's a farmer's life for me." When the work is complete, the family bakes a cake together. The colorful spreads are rendered in gouache, acrylics, and digital collage and capture the essence of a loving family. Everyone pitches in, and they all have fun. They smile (and sometimes wave) as they care for their animals and neatly landscaped grounds.
