PreS-Gr 3—The Kratts brothers travel to the fourth largest island in the world: Madagascar. Martin and Chris, along with their team, explore native animals in their natural habitats, particularly different kinds of lemurs. This collection features four self-contained 25-minute episodes: "Lemur Legs," "Mini Madagascar," "Lemur Stink Fight," and "Fossa Palooza." On these trips, Martin, Chris, and the others spot sifaka lemurs, fossas, hedgehogs, chameleons, and hissing cockroaches. Viewers experience a rain forest firsthand and learn about unique adaptations that animals have developed to survive in this environment. The team is comprised of an inclusive group of scientists and inventors, including female engineers and computer programmers. Viewers will remain engaged throughout, thanks to the combination of animated and live-action rain forest adventures and the humorous and up-close interactions with the wildlife.
VERDICT This selection will tie in nicely with units about animal adaptations and animal habitats.
