Gr 9 Up–Kayena Hill, the older sister of the emperor, thought she had it all and felt secure in her position. Meanwhile, her brother, Prince Regef, skillfully manipulated her, going so far as to have her attempt to poison the lady he is enamored with, Olivia Grace. Kayena is executed for her crimes, and an unnamed office worker reading her tale resonates with the fact that both women have been mere puppets all along. After the woman is murdered, she awakens in an earlier part of Kayena’s story, where her father is still emperor. This new, informed version of Kayena is determined to free herself from her brother’s control and her fate, elegantly transitioning from marionette to puppet master. This is a fairly standard reborn-into-a-book isekai that originated as a web novel. The manwha adaptation is brought to life by manggle’s gorgeous full-color artwork. Character sheets with commentary are included in the back of the first volume.
