The Technology of Ancient China

Gr 5–8—The majority of the content in this set was previously published under Cavendish Square's Benchmark imprint as "Technology of the Ancients" in 2011. Books have new authors, and changes include new chapter introductions and conclusions, a few updated facts or mentions of new archaeological finds, and the occasional sidebar. With those exceptions, the text is unchanged from the earlier edition. Books cover each civilization's history and its innovations in architecture, agriculture, engineering and public works, transportation, and scientific discoveries. Photographs have been changed to feature more images of artifacts and locations. This set is generally well written and will help readers and report writers understand the importance of technology in early civilizations, but this is a mixture of new and recycled material.
