The Race to Feed the Hungry

Gr 5–8—While the title of this series might seem sensational, the subjects covered are ones that readers young and old should be paying attention to. Offering dire yet realistic information about issues such as global warming, world hunger, and pending economic crises, the goal here is to get students thinking about issues beyond their immediate worlds and brainstorming ways in which they can possibly contribute to solutions (or at least raise awareness of the issues).
