Sir Ladybug and the Bookworms

Gr 1-4–In his third adventure, Sir Ladybug receives an ant-delivered notice that a book he checked out from the library is nearly overdue. Upon his “knightly honor,” Sir Ladybug vows to return the book before the sunset deadline. Bug after bug after bug calls for help, though, derailing the quest. The ultimate snag: a trio of bookworms traps Sir Ladybug and friends and tries to eat the book. Who will stop them? Tabor’s latest follows the same welcoming, predictable format as the previous volumes: a prologue and/or epilogue, with short chapters and interludes between. The low panel count and abundant white space helps keep the book accessible to newer comics readers. Promoting honorable values and contagious silliness, this romp ultimately delivers on the promise that libraries can be for everyone—even bookworms.
