While there's no shortage of diagrams or photos, the bright color scheme and dated design may deter some readers. Sidebars helpfully extend the text, defining terms or providing examples. A glossary, a list of suggested reading, and text comprehension questions are appended; however, no factual information sources are cited. The authors include the opinions of climate skeptics but clearly privilege scientific facts. Open-ended questions and potential action items let readers come to their own conclusions. The "Before & After Reading Activities" section may be useful in an educational setting.
VERDICT Not first purchases, but, if nothing else, consider Climate Change and Food Production and Planet Protection.
