Gr 2–4—Young fans of Charles Ogden's "Edgar & Ellen" series and the work of Tim Burton will be pulled in to Ghoulia's world. Ghoulia is a young zombie who, while very happy living in Crumbling Manor, just wants to make friends with the local children. But her zombie features pose a bit of a problem, and Ghoulia decides to use Halloween to try to make friends. She accidentally reveals herself to be a zombie, and finds that true friends like you for who you really are. An instrumental tone reminiscent compositions by Danny Elfman accompanies the narration, and eerie sound effects such as thunder claps add to the Gothic atmosphere. Viewers will love Ghoulia's world and will want to visit Crumbling Manor again soon. Recipes and games follow the story.
