With two spreads devoted to each season, the first-person narrative describes some of their favorite activities. Chorao's lush illustrations in gouache, colored pencils, and ink fill the pages with colorful pastel depictions of the momma and her kitten diving into a pile of autumn leaves, sledding down a winter slope, flying kites in the spring, watering summer blossoms, and celebrating the youngster's birthday in the fall. Rhyming couplets express a feline mother's enduring love for her kitten throughout the year. The characters enjoy each season's highlights, including winter sledding, spring kite-flying, summer swimming, and autumn leaf-raking.
