PreS-Gr 1—Violet has packed two identical-looking bags. One will be going to Grandpa's farm with her dog and the other will be traveling with her to Florida. The bags hold items that ensure that both of them have a fun trip. Violet worries, though, when she realizes that she mixed up the bags. After Grandpa describes Pooch's adventures, she is reassured that her pet is happy, and they are able to enjoy their vacations because they feel loved. Cocca-Leffler's gouache and fabric collage illustrations focus on the relationship between a young girl and her pet. The split-page format that appears on several of the spreads allows readers to see each character on vacation.—Tanya Boudreau, Cold Lake Public Library, AB, Canada
