Gr 9 Up—On January 21, 2017, hundreds of thousands of women across the country took to the streets and marched to have their voices heard. While women comprised the majority of marchers, they were joined by men, children, and entire families. This film uses footage from five American cities: Boston; San Francisco; Oakland; Santa Rosa, CA; and Washington, DC, and some international locations, to give viewers a sense of what it was like at these events. Without narration, the film uses interviews with participants, music, chants, and speeches to help move the film along. However, it lacks a clear vision or direct narrative that would help it stand out as a good resource, bearing in mind that the Women's March encompasses many different viewpoints and can be obtuse in trying to pinpoint the perspectives.
VERDICT Though a moving collection of footage compiled about a movement that is still going strong, it lacks enough depth to make it a worthy resource.
