PreS-Gr 1–This interactive board book will entertain any animal-loving youngster. Each spread presents readers with a short paragraph describing an animal hidden on the page. The clues provide facts about the creature and ask readers to guess who is hiding. Once they are ready to uncover the animal, they can reveal it themselves, a feature that will surely delight young children. Various creatures are included, such as insects, mammals, and reptiles. The Spanish to English is choppy, with frequent switches in and out of rhyme that are awkward. Still, the target age group will likely care more about the reveal than the text.
