PreS-Gr 2—Composer and arranger Mariana Iranzi, a native of Argentina, uses her teaching experience to good advantage in this collection. The majority of the 13 upbeat and catchy songs are original. Most of the lyrics are in Spanish, but the sufficient translation will help children will pick up on their meanings. The repetitive nature of most of the numbers is a real strength. Children will absorb the lyrics quickly. The CD can be used as an instructional tool for children learning either Spanish or English. The tenor of the songs runs an elegant line between peppy and soothing, and the variety of instruments and styles keeps the collection from becoming boring. Fourteen other artists are credited with instrumental tracks on various songs, making this a truly international enterprise. An additional purchase for libraries serving younger bilingual or ELL children.—
