Akeem Keeps Bees!: A Close-Up Look at the Honey Makers and Pollinators of Sankofa Farms

PreS-Gr 3–Kamal Bell and his son Akeem describe in fascinating detail what it’s like to keep bees. Young Akeem has lots of questions for his dad about bees—why are bees important? Where do they live? How do they make honey? How do they reproduce? Some pages show Akeem and his dad in a graphic novel format talking about the bees and some pages offer a more traditional nonfiction treatment, showing the bees up close to give more information.
