A Potluck

12.98.
The third album from Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band is a delightful entry into children’s indie music. Book-ended by story-poems, and beginning with the song, “Lines and Dots,” this collection addresses the themes of neighborhood and interconnectedness in a truly enjoyable way. Songs like “On My Bike” and “Lemonade Stand” explore the theme of local sights and sounds. All of the numbers are filled with choruses that just beg for listeners to sing along. While world music beats drive “Monkey Jones” and “Tres Ratones,” plucky vocals bring liveliness and joy to all the songs. A worthwhile addition to every collection.–Veronica De Fazio, Plainfield Public Library District, IL
