New IMLS Initiative Focuses On School Readiness

The IMLS-funded program, Building a National Network of Museums and Libraries for School Readiness, will build on past work by the Boston Children's Museum and form a coalition of museums and libraries to better serve the youngest patrons.

The Institute of Museum and Library Services has awarded a grant to Boston Children's Museum to launch a new initiative, Building a National Network of Museums and Libraries for School Readiness. The goal is to create a coalition of museums and libraries and address the needs of children so they enter schools prepared and set up to succeed. The program is a three-year expansion of one of Boston Children's Museum's existing programs.
